is about charging a battery with a battery charger. And, what is so
important about hooking up a charger? Safety is number
one. If a charger is not hooked up properly to a battery an
explosion could happen and that is something you don’t want.

remember when I used to simply grab a battery charger and hook it
up. I never thought about the safety issues. Charging a
battery with a battery charger was just old
stuff. How could you make a mistake hooking positive to
positive and negative to negative? Should I say “That’s the
easy part”?
It’s
knowing the sequence, or steps, you should take when hooking up a
charger so that you don’t get hurt. If sparks start flying
all over you may think nothing of it until the first time those
sparks happen to come in contact with the fumes off the
battery. By then it is too late. You have made the
mistake. On average I will hook up a battery charger about
once every six months or so. But, I have a very specific
sequence I follow when hooking the leads up to the battery and
when taking them off, including unplugging the battery
charger. Charging a battery with a battery charger is a pretty simple
