How to thread a needle for hand sewing

This video on how to thread
a needle for hand sewing
 is based on threading
needles to sew leather with.  Most all my belts, holsters and
heavy duty bags are hand stitched.  I usually use a sewing
machine for wallets only.  The method of sewing I mention in
the video is simply using a single line of thread, but with a
needle at both ends.

One thing about the needles I use in cross stitching is the eye of the
needle is big.  How to thread a needle for hand sewing leather, at least
with cross stitching, is pretty easy.   I guess the most
important thing to realize is how to use the needles properly once
you have them ready to go.

You want the product you are making to be clean and neat looking,
correct?  Well in the video about how to thread a needle for hand sewing leather pay close
attention when I demo the locking process of the thread once the
needles have been threaded.  Do it wrong and your creation
will look bad as the thread wears on.

I seldom use really heavy duty thread.  It is cumbersome to
deal with and requires large holes for the needles to go through,
especially in cross stitching where the needle has to go through
twice.  You can thread the needle with the heavy thread just
fine, because the eye of the needle is large, as I
mentioned.  Watch the video for the trick on how to make that
lock of the thread once the needle is threaded.  It is very
important.
