The quick
connect unit on the end of the hose that goes to your propane tank
has in it a small check valve.  The purpose of the valve is
not to let propane gas leak back when you disconnect the unit from
the tank.  If it does leak back gas that means the valve has
failed inside that quick connect unit so replace it.

connect propane hose is a fail safe device.  It is designed to protect you and others
from a possible explosion.  When you disconnect a tank there
should be no back pressure leak.  If there is it is a very
