I volunteer as
a camp host and maintenance person at state parks. A former
camp-host heard about this from a Russian fellow who told him that
burning the center of a round of wood would keep mosquitoes away.
Hey, it worked and I also found out how to make a
homemade BBQ grill. it was the same thing.
Just light the briquettes, let them burn a pit in the round,
and there it was. I sure didn’t have to lug around a BBQ
unit thereafter.

I was simply
sitting next to the round of wood as the briquettes were burning
and it suddenly hit me that instead of using the new BBQ I had
drug up with me and get it all dirty I would simply throw a grill
over the briquettes and see what happened. Well, it
happened. I had just learned how to make a homemade BBQ grill from a piece of wood,
some briquettes and lighter fluid.
